This striking 18x24 inch portrait stands out as one of my more bold explorations in my Wallflower Girls series. Unlike some of my earlier works where eyes are obscured, here the piercing gaze of the subject directly engages you, representing the confidence that emerged through my artistic journey.
 
The title "Giraffe" plays with the elegant, elongated features of the portrait while the vibrant color palette creates a dynamic energy. Rich crimson poppies and ruby lips provide dramatic focal points against a luxurious background of turquoise, gold leaf accents, and creamy neutrals.
 
This painting exemplifies my signature style of blending realism with abstraction. The realistic portrait emerges from—yet remains connected to—the abstracted, textured background. Drips, splatters, and gestural marks surrounding the face create a sense of movement and emotional depth that pulls you into the composition.
